Does our project make sense to you? Do you want us to develop our activities further? Then join us! Transfer Station only works thanks to people like you. Our supporters have a considerable influence on our project, which wants to help those who are often forgotten. Your regular contribution will go directly towards helping the homeless – not with allowances but with proper work.

Regular contributions don’t work for you? No problem – we’ll be very happy for a one-time donation too. And most of all, we’re looking forward to seeing you in one of our shops.

You can send your contribution to our account (2801087176/2010) or deliver it in person.

Do you want to get involved in the action and help us develop further? Do you take volunteering seriously? Do you care about the plight of people experiencing homelessness? If you answered yes three times, you’ve come to the right place and we’ll be delighted if you choose to join us. There are many activities you can take on – from helping out in the shop through sorting clothes, organising workshops and events all the way to taking pictures or making videos.

Do you want to work directly with our homeless colleagues? We’re looking for partners to help them out communicating with various institutions and bureaus or handling new technologies.

In return, we’ll help with your own development, teach you new things, introduce you to new people, and give you as supportive an environment as we can. And most importantly, you’ll be doing something that has value and meaning for you!
Donations, sales, and voluntary
contributions for events
Whether you’re donating clothes, shopping, or contributing for an event you attended, you’re supporting the operation and development of Transfer Station. What’s more, you’re also creating the community around Transfer Station – a wonderful community and one we hope is crucial for the world around us.

Thank you all!

A charity shop selling
clothing and books,
but also a place that
changes lives.

We give work to people experiencing homelessness and organise workshops, lectures, and film screenings for the general public.

Přestupní stanice (Transfer Station) creates jobs for homeless people.
It provides them with a supportive environment and helps them through a difficult time in their lives.

Our shop offers a broad scale of select items for both men and women, as well as accessories and a selection of books.

Visit us in one of our shops.

We would like to take part in creating a society in which mutual help, respect, and a conscious lifestyle are among the top priorities.

We’re not your typical second-hand shop – we help people think about our consumerist approach to clothing, with every piece of clothing that no longer fits ending up in the trash. Every little piece of clothing deserves a second chance. Just like people deserve a second chance.
Václav
Václav was our first shop clerk – he helped us put Transfer Station together. During the time he spent with us, he found another job where he still works today, he moved into an apartment, he’s paying back his debt, he’s back in touch with his family and in 2018, he married the wonderful Ivanka. Václav is a great example of motivation and dreams that come true. He is still at Transfer Station as an active volunteer.
Marika
Marika came to us straight from the street: one day, she asked if we had any work for her and we hired her right away. And we’ve never regretted it. Marika is a fashion guru and she always has the best advice ready at hand. Her aim was to find a place to live again and regain custody of her daughter. She’s achieved both – she has a stable job, a social housing apartment and she’s a diligent mother.
Markéta
Markéta came to us with courage, but also with a number of problems that urgently needed to be addressed. Our central aim was helping her leave the squat she was living in and finding her regular accommodation, as well as aiming for the goals she set for herself. Not only is she now living in a regular flat, but she’s also adopted a dog, gotten her health back, and she’s now working in Transfer Station as a manager and training new colleagues. We couldn’t be more proud if we tried!

During opening hours, Transfer Station is an open space in which you are welcome to come and work, have a meeting, or relax with a book.

We have wi-fi, drinks on a voluntary-donation-basis and a community kitchenette. In the evenings, we organise or co-organise various cultural and educational events. You’ll find the updated programme on our Facebook, or you can subscribe to our newsletter to make sure you don’t miss anything.
We accept almost all donations. We then sort through the mass and search for an adequate use for the things we cannot sell. These are passed on to other projects and organisations. Profits from sales go directly towards operation costs and salaries.
However, any clothes you donate have to be clean, washed, and functional. We only sell clothes in the condition in which they come to us and we don’t accept textile waste. If you are unsure whether we will accept your donation, send us a message and we’ll help you out. You can bring your donations at any time within our opening hours. For larger donations, please let us know in advance.

We would like to thank our supporters:
